Introduction to Blockchain and Airport Operations in a COVID-19 Environment
Summary
Emerging blockchain technology holds the potential to help airports resolve customer-facing and
operational challenges, including those introduced by COVID-19. Blockchain technologists and
seasoned airport stakeholders from around the world convened online to hear experts explain
blockchain and its potential applications and use cases at airports. Presentations focused on
provenance tracking, data sharing, privacy as well as blockchain basics and use cases to help
airports navigate the new normal.
TRB's Conference Proceedings on the Web 28: Introductions to Blockchain and Airport Operations in a COVID-19 Environment summarizes the discussions and presentations from the event in Washington, D.C.
