TRB’s SHRP 2 Tuesdays Webinar: Innovative Bridge Designs for Rapid Renewal (R04)

As part of the SHRP2 Tuesdays Webinar Series, TRB conducted a webinar on May 13, 2014, from 2:00pm to 3:30pm ET that summarized SHRP 2 Project R04: Innovative Bridge Designs for Rapid Renewal, which produced SHRP 2 Report S2-R04-RR-2: Innovative Bridge Designs for Rapid Renewal Toolkit. There was no fee to attend this webinar or other webinars in the SHRP 2 Series; however, participants must register in advance. A certificate for 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDH) will be provided to attendees who register and attend the webinar as an individual.

This project developed pre-engineered standards for modular bridge substructure and superstructure systems, which can be installed with minimal traffic disruptions. Products include design standards and design examples for complete prefabricated bridge systems, as well as recommended specification language for accelerated bridge construction (ABC) systems that are suitable for future inclusion in the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) Bridge Design and Construction Specifications.

The first 60 minutes of the webinar was for presentations and the final 30 minutes was reserved for audience questions.
