This webinar describes the SHRP 2 Economic Impact Tools, which can help planners make comprehensive and realistic assessments of the economic impacts of transportation investments and highway capacity projects. Specifically, the tools assist with estimating improvements that support economic vitality through better access to markets, improved travel time reliability, and reliable intermodal connectivity—all of which can lead to credible and supportable decisions in the agreement process.
Webinar Presenters:
- Stefan Natzke, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)
- Glen Weisbrod, Economic Development Research Group, Inc. (EDR Group)
- Adam Winston, Economic Development Research Group, Inc. (EDR Group)
Moderated by: Stephen Andrle, Transportation Research Board
Webinar Outline:
- Part 1: Brief overview of SHRP 2 mission, objectives of the Capacity focus area and related SHRP 2 research.
- Part 2: FHWA's perspective regarding the Economic Impact Analysis Tools Projects.
