TRB Volunteer Profile: Raquelle (Kelly) Myers
Raquelle (Kelly) Myers, staff attorney with the National Indian Justice Center (NIJC), is a featured volunteer in the
TR News. Ms. Myers’ areas of interest are federal Indian law, family law, and tribal transportation programs. At NIJC, she aids the organization’s mission to improve the justice systems, health, and welfare in tribal communities, focusing on tribal transportation issues.
While at NIJC, Ms. Myers has administered the Western Tribal Transportation Training and Technical Assistance Program, which worked with tribes in California and Nevada. She is also developing the new collaborative Tribal Transportation Safety and Planning Program and partnering with UC Berkeley SafeTREC to launch an online crash data tool for California tribal communities. Additionally, Ms. Myers assists in developing online courses for tribal transportation.
At TRB, Ms. Myers was former chair of the Native American Transportation Issues Standing Committee and has served on the Transit Cooperative Research Program Panel on Developing, Enhancing, and Sustaining Tribal Transit Services.
