Air Service Development and Regional Economic Activity

The relationship between a region’s economy and its air service is not well understood.

The TRB Airport Cooperative Research Program's ACRP WebResource 12: Air Service Development and Regional Economic Activity provides resources to help airports and their communities estimate how changes in air service could positively or negatively impact their economy. Methods for communicating the contribution of air service to local employment and economic activity are also provided. The WebResource is accompanied by a guide, ACRP Web-Only Document 53: Measuring and Understanding the Relationship Between Air Service and Regional Economic Development.
