Standardized Controller Scheduling Tool
The Office of the Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Transportation has released a report that determines the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s progress in adopting a standardized tool to schedule air traffic controllers. A scheduling tool was developed in 2016 to standardize scheduling practices at all air traffic facilities with the goal of limiting staffing issues and overtime costs. This report also identifies any challenges that may need to be addressed in implementing this scheduling tool.
