Evaluation of the ACT Government’s Safer Cycling Reforms
The Center for Automotive Safety Research at the University of Adelaide in Australia has released a report that evaluates the two major components of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) government’s safer cycling reforms trial: a minimum passing distance when overtaking cyclists, and cyclists remaining on their bikes at pedestrian crossings. The goal of this report is to identify any safety benefits for cyclists or any potential increased risks for cyclists or pedestrians as a result of these trial rules.
