TRB conducted a webinar on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM ET that discussed balanced/performance-engineered asphalt mixture design. Agencies have identified the integration of mechanical and performance tests with current volumetric design practice as an encouraging method for the production of longer-lasting asphalt pavements. Part I of this webinar series focuses on examining how agencies are approaching balanced/performance engineered mixture design, how well their efforts are moving forward, and the challenges they are facing on the path to implementation.
Part 2 of the series will take place on Monday, November 26, 2018, and will focus on case studies of successful balanced/performance-engineered mixture designs.
This webinar was organized by the TRB Standing Committees on Nonasphalt Components of Asphalt Paving Mixtures, Structural Requirements of Asphalt Mixtures, and Surface Requirements of Asphalt Mixtures.
