Fatigue Performance of High-Frequency Welded Steel I-Beams
The U.S. Federal Highway Administration has released a report that evaluates the fatigue performance of high-frequency (HF) welded steel I-beams in bridge design. HF welding is a solid-state welding process that heats up the surfaces to be joined together near their melting point then mechanically forges the surfaces together to form a welded joint.
