TRB Volunteer Profile: Douglas Gransberg
Douglas Gransberg, president and principal consulting engineer at Gransberg and Associates, Inc., is a featured volunteer in the
TR News. With over 40 years of experience, Dr. Gransberg has applied his construction expertise to a variety of projects, including the Panama Canal design-build project and state legislation for implementation of alternative project delivery.
Previously, he taught construction engineering at Iowa State University, and has assisted over 30 the states in implementing his research in five-dimensional complex project management, design-build, construction management, indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity, alternative technical concepts, and preconstruction service cost estimating.
At TRB, Dr. Gransberg has participated in SHRP2, ACRP, NCHRP, and TCRP research and currently chairs the Standing Committee on Project Delivery Methods, which he helped establish.
