Evaluating Relationships Between Perception-Reaction Times, Emergency Deceleration Rates, and Crash Outcomes Using Naturalistic Driving Data
The Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute at North Dakota State University has released a report that evaluates perception-reaction times (PRT) and deceleration rates between crash and near-crash events using naturalistic driving data from the Strategic Highway Research Program 2 (SHRP2). PRT and deceleration rates are critical safety factors in the design of highways and streets.
