Review of FAA Overflight Fee Program
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Office of the Inspector General has released a report that reviews the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s overflight fee program. This program authorizes the FAA to charge overflight fees to aircraft operators who fly in U.S.-controlled airspace but do not depart or land in the U.S. This report assesses whether overflight fees are accurately computed, and whether they are collected from the U.S. Department of the Treasury, in accordance with Federal law.
