The Minnesota Department of Transportation has released a report that investigates the use of Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) to enhance mowing operations. AVL provides a means for determining and transmitting the geographic location of a vehicle, and when combined with vehicle sensors and operator input, may generate efficiencies, improve safety, and potentially save money.
