Research Pays Off - Enhancing Runway Safety Areas at San Francisco International Airport
The latest edition of Research Pays Off explores ways to enhance runway safety areas (RSAs) through research conducted by the Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP). The research identifies four primary improvements to RSAs, including extending the RSA, modifying or relocating the RSA, reducing the declared distance available, and installing an engineered material arresting system (EMAS).
