TRB conducted a webinar on March 17, 2015, from 2:00pm to 3:30pm ET that featured an update on the research conducted by TRB’s Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) on the Next Generation Air Transportation System (“NextGen”)—a term used to describe a number of federal programs designed to modernize the National Airspace System (NAS).
Webinar presenters provided a general overview of ACRP's NextGen research initiative and its goals to develop; (1) a resource guide for airport practitioners; (2) a primer for airport decision makers; and (3) a public information toolkit that can be used by airport operators to communicate high-level, universal facts about NextGen and airports to local pilots, community members, local leaders, and the flying public.
This webinar was organized by the
Airport Cooperative Research Program in collaboration with the
TRB Standing Committee on Airfield and Airspace Capacity and Delay (AV060).
This webinar provided 1.5 Continuing Education Units for Accredited Airport Executives. This webinar has been approved by the American Institute of Certified Planners for 1.5 Certification Maintenance Credits.
