TRB Webinar: Wake Recategorization (RECAT)
TRB conducted a webinar on August 14, 2014, from 1:00pm to 2:30pm ET that will discuss aircraft wake recategorization at airports. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has recently undertaken a significant project at Memphis International Airport to develop an approach and implementation of recategorizing aircraft wake categories and the associated spacing standards. Contact Reggie Gillum at
RGillum@nas.edu for instructions on receiving a copy of the recorded webinar.
Webinar presenters will cover the approach and results of the work pursued thus far, the potential impacts of the standards change on the airline community, and the impacts to flight operations. Participants must register in advance of the webinar, and there is a fee for non-TRB Sponsor or non-TRB Sustaining Affiliate employees. No professional development hours are being offered to professional engineers for attending this webinar.
