TRB conducted a webinar on January 8, 2014 from 2:00pm to 3:30pm ET that explored the Capability Maturity Model (CMM). The CMM, developed by TRB’s second Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP 2), aims to improve transportation systems management and operations (see corresponding
report and
guide). Contact Reggie Gillum at
RGillum@nas.edu for instructions on receiving a copy of the recorded webinar.
The CMM, originally developed by SHRP 2, has been considerably refined within a web application available through the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO). The model has gained considerable traction by transportation agencies seeking to execute operations programs that improve travel time reliability.
This webinar explained how agencies have utilized the CMM concept and why it should be considered for continuous operations improvements. This webinar also served as a preview for the SHRP 2 Reliability poster sessions that occured at the
TRB 93rd Annual Meeting, January 12-14, 2014, in Washington, D.C. Webinar participants were encouraged to register and attend the meeting to interact with principal investigators of SHRP 2 Reliability projects that are being piloted in different states across the country.
Webinar Presenters
- Steve Lockwood, Parsons Brinckerhoff
- Bill Hyman, SHRP 2 Reliability Focus Area
Moderated by: Matt Miller,
SHRP 2 Reliability Focus Area
