TRB Webinar: Guidelines on the Use of Auxiliary Through Lanes at Signalized Intersections

TRB conducted a webinar on July 11, 2012, from 2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. ET that explored a National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Report 707: Guidelines on the Use of Auxiliary Through Lanes at Signalized Intersections. An Auxiliary Through Lane (ATL) is a limited-length through lane added upstream and downstream of an intersection. NCHRP Report 707 provides guidelines that are intended for use in the justification, design, and analysis of ATLs to assist practitioners in the effective and safe application of ATLs at signalized intersections.  

This webinar will provide an overview of the guidelines, including a summary of specific user considerations, operational and safety methods for evaluating ATLs, and an approach for preparing a functional design plan for an ATL.

Professional Development Hour information:
A certificate for 1.5 Professional Development Hour (PDH) will be provided to Professional Engineers (PEs) who register and attend the webinar as an individual.
