Infrastructure Maintenance
TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 2044 includes 13 papers that explore relating cost to condition in highway maintenance, a sampling procedure for road maintenance evaluations, and shaping the future of the workforce for intelligent transportation systems. This issue of the TRR also examines bridge inspection in Europe; bridge deck assessment by ground-penetrating radar, chain drag, and ground truth; electrical injection of corrosion inhibitor for reinforced concrete; and cathodic protection systems on Virginia bridges. In addition, TRR No. 2044 addresses the effects of aggregate and emulsion application rates on asphalt surface treatments, the safety effect of preventive maintenance, the long-term performance of reflective cracking mitigation techniques, the effect of bituminous material rheology on adhesion, compost for erosion control, and fleet transport for roadway maintenance equipment.
Individual TRRs, which are published on an irregular basis throughout the year, consist of collections of peer-reviewed papers on specific transportation subject areas and modes. TRB's TRR Online service allows all visitors to identify papers of interest and review abstracts of those papers. Access to the full papers is available to service subscribers and employees of TRB sponsors. Papers may also be purchased on an individual basis.
Printed copies of TRR Journals may also be purchased on an annual subscription basis. Each year, TRB publishes approximately 45 volumes of the TRR Journal, containing more than 800 papers grouped by subject.
