TRB Webinar: How It Affects You: IMO’s January 1, 2020, Vessel Fuel Deadline
Practitioners from the maritime industry were invited to a TRB webinar on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM ET. The webinar discussed the International Maritime Organization (IMO)’s 0.5% reduced-sulfur global vessel fuel standard, which goes into effect on January 1, 2020. This new standard may save lives, impose global costs, and create disruptive effects across the maritime supply chain. Presenters examined some of the projected potential impacts of the new IMO standard, which may help practitioners adjust to the effects to the maritime sector and its cross-sector supply chain.
This webinar was organized by the TRB Standing Committee on Ports and Channels.
