TRB Straight to Recording for All: Challenges in Using Big Data Analytics for Transportation Project Delivery

TRB released a series of recordings in February 2019 that analyzes the current digital project delivery methods with the intention of identifying unresolved challenges. The presenters discuss the opportunities that arise from the challenges in using big data analytics for improved project delivery (i.e., design, construction, operation, and maintenance), as well as for developing intelligence that can improve decision support for complex projects to directly add project value. The panelists included several case studies that addressed these challenges, including 5D Integrated Project Controls System, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and deliverables for bridge design.
