TRB Webinar: Capture the Data – Quantifying Airport Ground Access Vehicle Activity
Airport personnel were invited to a TRB webinar on Thursday, September 26, 2019, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM ET. The webinar featured research from the
Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP)
Research Report 180: Guidebook for Quantifying Airport Ground Access Vehicle Activity for Emissions Modeling.
This webinar discussed how airports can determine the data required to model ground access vehicle (GAV) emissions for airport projects and explain the established methods for obtaining and/or deriving GAV-specific data for modeling purposes. Airports conduct air quality studies for conformity determinations and other environmental and health-related assessments. GAVs include private vehicles, taxis, shuttles, rental cars, and delivery vehicles. They can be significant contributors to an airport’s emissions inventory and should therefore be considered in airport air quality studies.
This webinar is sponsored by the Airport Cooperative Research Program.
