Post Hurricane Sandy Transportation Resilience Study in NY, NJ, and CT
The U.S. Federal Highway Administration has released a report that evaluates the New York metropolitan region transportation system’s resilience to climate, sea level rise, and extreme weather. This report leverages lessons learned from Hurricane Sandy and other recent events, as well as future climate projections, to identify strategies to reduce and manage extreme weather vulnerabilities amid the uncertainties of a changing climate. This report addresses changing climate conditions and extreme weather events from a regional planning level.
