Review of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Management of Hopper Dredging
The U.S. Government Accountability Office has released a report that reviews the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) management of its hopper dredges fleet, which is used to dredge sediment from waterways as a way to maintain shipping routes. The review includes an assessment of effects of statutory restrictions placed on hopper dredges and challenges that the USACE faces in managing its dredger fleet.
