TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board (TRR: Journal), No. 1969 contains 18 papers that explore various aspects of highway safety in the United States and abroad. Specific topics examined include speeding and traffic law enforcement in Saudi Arabia, speed limits, red light cameras, proneness to red light violation, and alcohol prohibition, repeat users of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) and marijuana. Other issues covered in this volume of the TRR: Journal include risk perception training for novice drivers; driving behavior of university students in Kuwait; sustainable safety in the Netherlands; road safety audits; safety-conscious planning in practice; Houston, Texas, traffic safety planning; major transportation accidents in Norway; commercial motor vehicle safety technology surveys; wind forces on heavy truck stability; roadside inspection selection system; and motorcycles on tangent sections of expressways.
Individual TRR Journals, which are published on an irregular basis throughout the year, consist of collections of peer-reviewed papers on specific transportation subject areas and modes. Abstracts of papers that make up this TRR are available through TRB's Publication Index.
TRR Journals may also be purchased on an annual subscription basis. Each year, TRB publishes approximately 45 volumes of the TRR Journal, containing more than 800 papers grouped by subject.
