TRB Volunteer Profile: Catherine T. Lawson

Catherine T. Lawson, director of the Albany Visualization and Informatics Lab (AVAIL) at the State University of New York at Albany, is a featured volunteer in the September-October 2016 edition of the TR News. Dr. Lawson builds web-based tool suites for multimodal analysis, and her work has included a bus transit modeling suite for New Jersey Transit and the Metropolitan Transit Authority in New York City.

With TRB, Dr. Lawson previously chaired the Standing Committee on Urban Transportation Data and Information Systems, which earned a TRB Blue Ribbon Award. The Blue Ribbon award recognizes exemplary best practice standing committee activities and the volunteer efforts associated with those activities. She is an active member of other Standing Committees, and is also a member of the NCHRP Project Panel on Analyzing Data for Measuring Transportation Performance.
