ACRP Impacts on Practice – Guidebook for Addressing Aircraft/Wildlife Hazards at General Aviation Airports

The June 2015 issue of TRB’s Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) Impacts on Practice explores how the Sterling Municipal Airport (KSTK) in Colorado used ACRP Report 32: Guidebook for Addressing Aircraft/Wildlife Hazards at General Aviation Airports to manage a swallow population that had been causing aircraft strikes. The airport implemented a permanent, environmentally-friendly technique, and since installation, airport personnel have not found dead swallows.
