Analyzing the Determinants of Transit Ridership Using a Two-Stage Least Squares Regression on a National Sample of Urbanized Areas
The University of California Transportation Center has published the results of a study that found that most of the variations in transit ridership from system to system can be explained by the size of the metropolitan area, the vitality of the regional economy, and the share of the population with low levels of private vehicle access.
