Performance Measures to Improve Transportation Systems: Second National Conference

Conference Information

Conference Objectives:

  • Understand the state of practice in applying Performance Measurement to transportation systems.
  • Explore internal and external organizational approaches and issues related to applying performance measurement and decision-making.
  • Focus on the linkage between developing a performance based program and tracking its delivery.
  • Discuss and share tools, techniques, data and technologies for targeting, and tracking system performance measurement.
  • Look for common ground in challenging areas of Performance Measurement including: quality of life, environment, land-use, freight, and congestion.
Two optional, concurrent workshops will be held Sunday morning, before the conference officially starts:
  • Workshop on Performance Measures Basics (Getting Started) - This workshop will be a very practical primer on starting a performance measurement project in your agency.
  • Workshop on Communication - This workshop will offer practical advice on how to communicate with the public and decision makers - how to publicize and explain the performance measures your agency is tracking, your goals, successes and failures, etc.

The Attendee registration fee is $200.00 per person for those registered by Friday, July 30, 2004 and $250.00 for those registered afterward. This fee includes the Sunday Reception, all sessions, workshops, breaks, and continental breakfast and lunch on Monday and Tuesday.

The Student and Speaker registration fees are $150.00 per person for those registered by Friday, July 30, 2004 and $200.00 for those registered afterward. These fees include the Sunday Reception, all sessions, workshops, breaks, and continental breakfast and lunch on Monday and Tuesday.

The Spouse/Guest registration fee is $50.00 per person. This fee includes the Sunday Reception.

The conference dress will be "business casual."

Refunds will be issued, less a $25.00 cancellation fee, for all cancellations received in writing by Friday, July 30, 2004. No refunds will be issued thereafter.

Hotel Information

The Conference will start on Sunday August 22, 2004 at the Hyatt Newporter Hotel, Newport Beach.
The Conference will continue on Monday and Tuesday, August 23-24, 2004 at the Beckman Conference Center.
Shuttle service will be provided between the Newporter and the Beckman Center.
